We all have our personal dreams, but in the end everybody have the same basic idea of the concept of a "good life". We can't be fully happy without certain things like Love, Freedom, Hope, Safety, Happiness and Peace for example. We often think these kinds of values as obvious and self-evident, but they really aren't always easy to reach. People should see things more positively and think twice before complaining about little things. Life isn't always easy, but it could be so much worse! You must appreciate what you have, because things can change in a second. This is what I try to remember when I have a bad day. That's why I dream about the basic requirements for happiness.
With the word ”You” I want to refer to the important people around you who can make your dreams come true. People are the key. I'm a person who likes to be alone often and do my own things, but I couldn't live happily without my friends, family and other important people. I'm not the most social person, but once I meet someone I really appreciate I'll be sure to get to know her/ him better.
Lastly, the word ”You” can be seen as that ”special someone” who makes your life worth living. And to find that someone to love and to share your life with is the ultimate dream.
The Working Process
I got this idea of a dreamer with birds carrying dreams on pieces of paper. The almost invisible, empty birdcage in the left is there to encourage people to let their dreams fly freely. I used a reference photo of myself to create the pose since I wanted the character to represent me. I painted this with a more realistic and misty style to create a dream like atmosphere.
I'm quite happy with the outcome, but I'd be really happy to get some critique since I'm not yet so experienced with realistic painting. I had pretty much problems with the hands and now I have become blind to this picture so please tell me if I could do some changes to make this look better. Of course one of my biggest dreams is to develop as an artist and that's also a great reason for me to participate to this competition!
Thank you so much for the Daily Deviation! I'm really really happy and grateful! I was just drawing something for the first time in very very long time at the moment I noticed I got this DD! I should draw more often obviously! And I will, thanks to you people!
I've looked through your gallery (not to be a stalker but I liked this style and wanted to see more) and you're really good at this line less art thing. I would suggest doing much much more of it! This picture is beautiful. *faving*
